Interreg Italy-Croatia is carrying out a new collaboration initiative, ASOC ETC Interreg Italy-Croatia pilot project with the School of OpenCohesion (ASOC), an innovative educational programme aiming at promoting and strengthening concepts of active citizenship among youngsters. The project is intended for young people in both Italy and Croatia.
The programme encourages young Europeans to monitor cross-border cooperation activities financed by the Italy-Croatia Programme. The pilot project immediately contributes to the European Parliament and Council's declaration of the European Year of Youth 2022 by assisting young people in becoming active and engaged citizens inspired by a sense of European belonging. Four school teams from Italy and four from Croatia were “twined” to work jointly on monitoring of the project chosen among the projects financed by the Italy-Croatia CBC Programme and on the dissemination of its results. On 8th July 2022, the final event in Trieste will feature presentations from the most successful Italian and Croatian school Team who will be awarded for their civic monitoring research by the Italian and Croatian National Authorities.
